West Bengal Transport Corporation (WBTC) has announced the roll out of mobile ticketing for all the CSTC AC buses in the city effective immediately. The mobile ticketing solution is being offered by Trimax IT Services and Infrastructure Ltd and Chalo, India’s leading public transport app. With this launch, WBTC becomes the only transport corporation in the country to have mobile ticketing deployed in its fleet.

Commuters can buy their bus tickets on their mobile phone at their convenience, in just a few seconds through the Chalo app, eliminating the need to wait for the conductor or pay in cash. Payment can be done through M-wallet, UPI, netbanking or credit or debit card. After purchase, they simply need to activate it before boarding and show their mobile phone to travel, offering a convenient and hassle-free experience.

What’s more, passengers can avail a 10% discount on their ticket fare every time they buy a mobile ticket. The facility which is currently available on the CSTC AC buses is being extended to all the government buses in a few weeks’ time.

Bus travellers of Kolkata can experience mobile ticketing on the Chalo app right away by downloading it free from the Google Play Store.
