Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with state CMs via video conference for approximately 4 hours. During which they have decided that the lockdown will be extended for two more weeks till 30th April.

West Bengal government imposed a 14-day ‘complete lockdown’ in 10 areas across Kolkata where most number of Coronavirus cases are reported. On Saturday, Chief Secretary Rajiv Sinha said “areas from where there is a high possibility of the spread of the disease we are acknowledging them as hotspots. We are not naming them to avoid panic”.

He further added, we will be imposing total lockdown. We are aware this measure will cause more inconvenience to people, but we have no choice. We have to impose total lockdown as we don't want the cases to spread like wildfire".

Local markets, roads in those areas will be under complete shutdown and no one will be allowed to enter or step out of their house, Sinha said.

Nayabad


Dumdum


Salt Lake


Ultadanga


Belghoria

Parts of North and South 24 Parganas district include Howrah's Mallick Fatak area Foreshore road, Rajballabh Saha Lane, Salkia and areas around the Howrah district hospital.

The entire areas of Kalimpong, Tehatta (Nadia district) Egra (Purba Medinipur), Haldia will be under lockdown.
