Indian Army confirmed 20 Indian soldiers reportedly martyred at Galwan Valley in Ladakh border clash with China. However, the Chinese military hasn't mentioned any specific fatalities yet.

The ongoing tension between India and China has been going on since April. This was the biggest clash between India and China in the last 5 decades.

On Wednesday 17th June, Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a virtual meeting with the chief ministers of 15 states and union territories along with Amit Shah, the sacrifice of 20 Indian Army soldiers, who lost their lives during a violent face-off with Chinese soldiers will not go in vain.

PM Modi and the ministers observed a two-minute silence as a tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives on Monday at Galwan Valley.

PM Modi further added, “I would like to assure the nation that the sacrifice of our jawans will not be in vain. India wants peace, but it is capable to give a befitting reply if instigated.”

As per reports, the situation at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) is still tensed. Satellite images taken less than 24 hours after the clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers on June 15 at the Galwan River Valley region show that despite being massively outnumbered, the Indian side is still holding its ground in the area.

According to sources, last week two sides made progress in the meeting. Chief General MM Naravane saying severance was in process and the development had come after weeks of tension, which also includes an incident in which patrolling soldiers from the two sides came to blows on the banks of Pangong Lake, resulting in injuries.
