Who knew humans across the globe has to maintain social distancing for their survival in the 21st century? Weren’t we proud of nothing can stop the ‘human race’ but China proved us wrong?

The novel coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, which began from Wuhan, China in December has now spread to every corner of the World. The virus which was limited to China has now emerged as a global pandemic. Ever thought how it was possible?

Any global health crisis is not a blind force of nature, but the heedlessness of humans. The whole world is blaming China for the virus, and holding Chinese President Xi Jinping accountable for its geographical spread won’t be a mistake.

Chinese Government hid the facts in the crucial first stage, suppressed information, silenced and detained doctors for spreading awareness, destroyed samples, doing little to contain it, endangered the lives of its citizens and 100 countries across the world, restricted themselves from sharing any information, convinced World Health Organization (WHO) the virus can’t be spread through human to human transmission.

The People’s Republic of China has a history of mishandling outbreaks, remember SARS in 2002-2003? But, this time the malicious deliberate cover-up of the outbreak is sheer negligence of the government which allowed the virus to travel across the globe. Chinese authorities allowed 5 million residents of Wuhan to travel nationally and internationally without any medical check.

It’s said if the Chinese government acted three weeks earlier than they did then the positive cases of Coronavirus could have been reduced by 95%.

Netizens are trending #ChinaLiedPeopleDied, which is well deserved if you dig in deep. The outburst of coronavirus could have been in control if the Chinese government believed in transparency and willingness to share information. Rather, they lied that the virus was discovered here, but it doesn’t originate from China. Playing the blame game by saying, it can be the US army who brought it to Wuhan during their visit for the Military World Games in October.

As Shakespeare once said, You told a lie, an odious damned lie. The negligence of Xi Jinping’s government risked the lives of humans all around the world.

However, it seems as China did had a political agenda to it. Currently, the outbreak in China appears to have stabilized and it is positioning itself at the head of the global response to Covid-19, adopting a unique leadership position that may alter global power relations
