Indian government on Tuesday banned 59 Chinese apps even some popular apps like TikTok, UC Browser, Share It, Xender, We Chat etc to counter threats posed by these applications to the country's "sovereignty and security". Because of the rising tension between India and China over the weeks following clashes at the border two weeks ago.

This can be considered a way of peaceful retaliation by affecting their economy. Bengal's chief minister Mamata Banerjee supports the decision taken by the government of India in response to the violent face-off at the border.

During an event while speaking to the media personalities, Bengal's chief Minister said banning Chinese apps is not enough.

As per the reports of India Today, she was heard saying, only banning some apps will not give the results. We wish to give China a befitting reply and how we do it, that the government has to decide. Or the people of our country might question the government's decision.

If the government takes any stand against China, we want it to be implemented without any exceptions. We have to be very aggressive, CM Mamata Banerjee added.

CM Mamata Banerjee further added by clarifying her statement, "We never interfere in external affairs issue. Our party's stand is clear, we fully support the government's stand regarding this."

However, she believes this was the time to react and the government had the option to choose aggressive or negotiable retaliation for the motherland.
