“Sonar Sansar” the gold casket is back to town.

Jewellery is just like the perfect spice it always compliments what is already there. Sonar Sansar, the largest consumer jewellery show of eastern India is back this year. Veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee along with Mrs Kranti Nagvedkar and Mr. Nitin Achrekar, Directors, KNC Services; Mr Subir Sen and Mr Samar Dey of Swarna Bacchao Committee along with others inaugurated this one of it’s kind venture.

“Other than just showcasing the tempting jewellery designs the Sonar Sansar event also took the opportunity to felicitate the women of our society whom we all look up to,” said jury member Mr. Barun Chanda who was accompanied with other jury members like Smt. Alokananda Roy, Shri Pankaj Parekh and others. The awardees for Sonar Sansar- Women with Substance range from renowned athletes like Urmi Basu to Journalists like Moupia Nandi. Veteran singer Arati Mukherjee, theatre artist Sohag Sen, fashion Designer Agnimitra Paul were also given regnition for their outstanding contribution. “We are highly honoured,” remarked Swagata Lakshmi Dasgupta who was also awarded under the music category.

This is not just an event that commemorates our love for jewellery but also brings together jewellers of all genres under one roof. This venture also takes the oath to celebrate the contribution of individuals in our society.
