The Academy of Motion Picture Art and Science invited 819 artists and executives across the world, who have aced in the field of theatrical motion pictures. They released an official statement and claimed the class of 2020 consists of 45% women and 36% of people of colour to boost the diversity of Oscar nominees.

Among the 819 artists, two Bollywood actors have invited Alia Bhatt and Hrithik Roshan. The Academy list acknowledged Alia Bhatt for her powerful character in 'Gully Boy' and 'Raazi' while Hrithik Roshan for his performance in 'Jodha Akbar' and 'Super 30'.

Other Indian artists who are invited by the Academy are documentary filmmaker Nistha Jain and Amit Madheshiya, designer Neeta LullaShrikent, visual effects supervisors Vishal Anand and Sandeep Kamal, casting director Nandini.

Hansal Mehta, who directed critically acclaimed movies like Aligarh and City Lights, took to his twitter handle to react to the Academy invitees.

Hansal Mehta's tweet amazed desi Twitterati who agreed to his words, he said, 'Nepotistic Academy'.

Yes, you read it right 'Nepotistic Academy'.  Desi Twitter was divided by their thoughts, some supported Hansal Mehta's decision and some were against it.
