West Bengal reported it’s first positive Coronavirus case on Tuesday. After a young boy was tested positive who returned from England and it’s said to be the first case of Coronavirus in Kolkata.

As per the reports released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on 19th March 2020, the total number of coronavirus cases has jumped to 166 across India and 3 deaths in the country.

The Covid-19 outbreak has been declared as an epidemic in Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Haryana, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. The Central and state government have set up fights and are taking every precaution to escape the pandemic.  It’s also said, the doctors in India have initially developed a medicine which is a combination of Lopinavir, Retonovir, Oseltamivir along with Chlorphenamine drugs for treating the patients.

Well, India is facing backlash for conducting limited Covid 19 tests and people believe this is the only reason why the number of cases registered here is low despite being the second most populated country. Even after the World Health Organization is constantly urging the countries to widely conduct testing the people as much as they can to curb the pandemic.

Ironically, regardless of having the facility to test approx 8,000 people a day. India is conducting only 90 test a day, by far approximately 11,500 people have been tested.

The director-general of Indian Council of Medical Research Balram Bhargava said, there are no signs of community outbreak in the country. He further added it’s unfair to compare India’s testing strategy with other countries.
