6 August,2016,Kolkata: Binkar Musical Society celebrated the 60th birthday of Acharya Jayanta Bose, the admired genius in the global field of music, at Nazrul Manch, through a grand musical Acharya Axis, today. The evening was embraced the deeply embedded tradition and vitality of Acharya Jayanta Bose’s music, allowing the audience to revel in a celebration of the compositions of a living legend.
The evening was showcased – A classical recital by Pt.Tejendra Narayan Majumdar on the Sarod and Pt. Tanmoy Bose on the tabla where Pt. Majumdar played one of Acharya’s composed ragas and Pt. Tanmoy Bose played one of Acharya’s composed Talas. A semi classical item where the following artistes performed Acharya’s songs woven together by a garland of Acharya’s poetry to be recited by Srijato. Singers like Indrani Sen, Subhamita Banerjee, Jayati Chakraborty, Sampa Kundu,Anasua Mukherjee, Manomoy Bhattacharya, Rupankar Bagchi, Raghab Chatterjee, Soumya Bose and Shubhankar Bhaskar.
A dance ballet composed by Acharya Jayanta Bose was choreographed and presented by the internationally reputed danseuse Malabika Sen and highly famed Kathakali dancer Kaushik Chakraborty.
