10 July,2016,Kolkata: After the grand success of Yuva Music Festival 1 and 2, presented byAcademy for Musical Excellence (AMEC), it was the  3rd year which celebrated  The Spirit of Music  at Gyan Manch, today. This will be followed by a series of nine concerts. Visionary music educationist Mr. Surendranath Majumdar conceptualized Yuva Music Festival.

Yuva Music Festival is the most diversified musical event in India and probably in the world which showcases genres from Western Classical, Indian Classical, Folk, English, Bengali and Hindi popular songs, Instrumental Music, Fusion and creative music, Jazz, Blues and more. Yuva Music Festival is for promoting and empowering children and youth, irrespective of their financial abilities.

The Sprit of Music” concert  staged India’s International Pianist Kanishka Saha and Keyboard sensation Susmit De. More than 150 participants from different schools, colleges and upcoming artists presented Hindi, Bengali, English songs, devotional songs, more than 50 AMEC sponsored underprivileged children sang popular songs. There was  a special Xylophone performance by a child with autism.

The performance was as followed  Ganesh Vandana, Western Classical Piano recital by Kanishka Saha and Vasu Tangri, Keyboard (Western and Bollywood) by Susmit De, Sayor Ghosh, Pritam Das, Yuva Band performing English and Hindi songs.

Tribute to Michael Jackson. 15 Drummers performed “They don’t really care about us”,AMEC Choir singing What a Wonderful World, Rainbow Dharamtalla girls sang Ebar Tor Mora Gange, Rainbow Elliot Road girls sang Lakri Ki Kathi, besides a special child performed on Xylophone, Lifetime Achievement Award given  to Sister Sabrina for her life long contribution towards helping the girl children.

The event was graced by the august presence of Olaf Iversen, H.E. German Consul, Soumitra Ray( Bhoomi), Riddhi Bandyopadhyay.
