A three-day art exhibition featuring the works of children with autism is being held in Kolkata. Two speaker sessions and a workshop are also designed specifically for educators and carers will also be held during the event.

The Kolkata Centre for Creativity is hosting the 'Celebrating Blue' event, which started on April 11 and has 45 artworks created by 38 youngsters.

"We sincerely hope that this initiative will promote diversity and understanding in our community. We want to highlight the distinctive views and abilities of people on the autism spectrum via an engaging art show, lecture series, and hands-on workshops. According to KCC chief Richa Agarwal, "It is not just an event; it's a platform for fostering empathy, appreciation, and meaningful dialogue."

"Our goal is to create a more accepting and helpful community for people with autism and their families by means of art, conversation, and education," she stated.

The founder and director of the Autism Society of West Bengal, Indrani Basu, stated: "Artworks created by people with autism are displayed in the KCC exhibition, offering an alternative viewpoint. It is an example of unique divergent thought.

On April 13, in addition to the speaker sessions and the workshop for educators and carers, there will be a workshop for the kids called On Date Palm, which is based on the paintings of the renowned artist K.G. Subramanyan.

The organisers say that the purpose is to introduce kids to nature via creative activities that are influenced by Subramanyan's paintings and sketches. They claimed that the idea is to build an exhibit of landscape with cutouts of palm palms and undulating terrain.
