Next month marks the release of Pathikrit Bose's film 'Dabaadu'. This Windows-produced movie is a biographical picture of Grandmaster Suryashekhar Gangopadhyay. The movie's filming got underway in July of last year. On Wednesday, the movie's first poster was unveiled.

Rising from a middle-class household in North Kolkata, Surya defies all difficulties to pursue a career in professional chess. Surya was portrayed in the movie by Arghya Basu Roy. Shankar Chakraborty and Rituparna Sengupta are assuming the roles of Surya's protectors.

Nevertheless, Chiranjit Chakraborty served as Surya's coach. In addition, there are Kharaj Mukhopadhyay, Kaushik Sen, Dipankar Dey, and others. Four people are essentially seen in the movie's initial poster. It stars Suryasekhar's childhood character, Samdarshi Sarkar, Dipankar, Chiranjith, and Rituparna.

This is the first time that a sports-related Bengali movie has been produced with chess as the subject matter. Regarding this movie, the filmmaker is upbeat. "Windows brought a game like chess that was away from publicity to the centre of Bengali cinema," according to Pathikrit.

Conversely, Suryasekhar reminisced about this movie and remarked, "I still recall meeting Shibuda on January 2, 2021 for this film. as my daughter's birthday is the next day.
