In an interview with the AP Podcast on YouTube, Adil Hussain claimed that Kabir Singh is the only movie he "regretted doing" and referred to it as "misogynistic." Furthermore, the performer stated that he left the theatre in less than twenty minutes.

"That's the only film in my life that I did without reading the script, without watching the Telugu movie it was based on," the star of Life of Pi continued. And after 20 minutes, I simply left the Delhi theatre where I had gone to see the film Kabir Singh because I could not stand it. And even now, I still regret it. I feel that Kabir Singh is a misogynistic film, and it's the only one I've regretted doing. I felt like a very little human because of that.

Adil Hussain supported filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga's right to free speech in the same interview. "I can't comment on that because I didn't even dare to watch Animal," the actor remarked. Trusted friends have told me stories, but I can't comment until I see it. However, I went to watch it since I am a member of Kabir Singh. Everyone, in my opinion, has the right to make a movie whatever they see fit.

I will support Sandeep Reddy Vanga's (his freedom to produce a movie). However, I totally disagree with him. A movie like Kabir Singh, in my opinion, celebrates something that is bad for society. It validates male aggression towards everyone, regardless of gender, and misogyny. It exalts and rejoices over it. I've previously stated that Kabir Singh is the only movie I regret being in.

Adil Hussain went on to say that he was unable to persuade his wife to watch the Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani film because he "felt embarrassed."

Sandeep Reddy Vanga posted a message on X (formerly Twitter) following the viral success of Adil Hussain's interview. Sandeep Reddy Vanga said he "regrets casting" Adil Hussain in Kabir Singh and included a tape of the actor's interview. "Your'regret' of one BLOCKBUSTER film earned you greater fame than your 'belief' in thirty art films did. Knowing that your greed exceeds your passion, I hate casting you.

I'll spare you the embarrassment now by substituting an AI look for your own in the film. Now smile properly," the post said.
