In our country every day thousands of people go to sleep without getting proper food to eat.

West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has on Monday virtually launched a scheme in Bengal named “Maa” to assure no one stays hungry. This decision is made ahead of assembly election.

Bengal government would provide meal to the poor people at a nominal cost.

The platter will include rice, dal, a vegetable and egg curry for Rs 5. Mamata Banerjee said, that the state government will bear a subsidy of Rs 15 per plate.

People have already started to avail the ‘Maa’ scheme. And, many have started WB government is doing a fair job by serving good quality food at such a low rate.

She further added, self-help groups will operate the kitchens from 1 pm to 3 pm every day and these kitchens will be set up everywhere in the state gradually.

 

Former Cricketer and MP Gautam Gambhir had set up a kitchen a year back to feed the people with a nominal price of 1 rupees.

We hope this will be beneficial for the poor people. So that our country can win over hunger.
