The city of joy profoundly known as the city of literature for all the little bookworms our city has a new destination to make you feel the luckiest “floating on the Ganges reading your favourite book”.

Well, we have dropped the hint there. Speaking of which, the West Bengal Transport Corporation collaborated with a heritage book store and has launched a children’s library on a boat, the first of its kind initiative.

It’s said, the ideation behind the unique library is that kids will be able to read books while appreciating the beauty of Kolkata with chocolates. Such a delightful experience it’ll be.

As per the reports of HT, the Young Readers’ Boat Library will have a selection of 500 titles in English and Bengali.

According to an official, “The boat library will take people on a three-hour-long trip.” Cruising on the Hooghly river, the trip will start at Millenium Park, and go all the way to Belur Math jetty and then it’ll return. The boat will take three trips on all weekdays and cost ₹100 for adults and ₹50 for children.

Wondering what about WIFI? Well, the boat library has a free wifi facility for all of us. Also, various activities such as storytelling, dramatized readings, poetry sessions, book launches, and many more will be organised at the boat library.

Such a brilliant initiative, isn't it?
