Recently, Ajay Devgn took to his social media handles and shared the teaser poster of his forthcoming film ‘Maidaan’. As soon as the teaser poster of his work in progress film was posted it created a buzz on social media and netizens are going gaga over it.
On Thursday, the actor shared two posters of his first look from the movie on his social media handles. Ajay Devgn tweeted the pictures with the caption, yeh kahaani hai Indian football ke Golden phase ki aur uske sabse badey aur successful coach ki.
Ajay Devgn also announced a few names of the cast, which marks the Bollywood debut of Vinci Da actor Rudranil Ghosh. As soon as the first look of the poster was tweeted Rudranil Ghosh was quick to share the news with his fans, his tweet reads, I am indeed lucky to be a part of this beautiful piece of Indian Football History! Thank u team #MAIDAAN
Rudranil is extremely happy & privileged to be part of this movie and to share the screen with Ajay Devgn. He will be seen portraying the character of Subhankar an important member of the football federation. Rudranil was at first approached for a small role, but later director Amit Ravindernath Sharma changed his mind after watching his audition tape. However, the ‘Satyanweshi Byomkesh’ actor’s look test lasted for approximately 9 hours.

Maidaan is inspired by the golden era of Indian football from 1952 to 1962. In the biopic, Ajay Devgn will be seen portraying the character of former Indian coach Syed Abdul Rahim who coached India football team to victory in the Asian Games.
Maidaan is directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, screenplay and dialogues are written by Saiwyn Quadras and Ritesh Shah respectively. Produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta. The movie is slated to hit the theatres on 27th November 2020.
