Kolkata, January 12 &13th, 2019: The stimulating assemblage of the city’s fashion and handicraft enthusiasts with the two day long exhibition- Kolkata Kettle -1st Edition presented by The Rotary Club Midtown was the talk of the town this weekend. The exhibition was a hub for all the craftsmen, designers, paving the way for remarkable opportunities to showcase their products across all categories under one roof.

The main highlight of the exhibition was the ‘Gallery of Craft Couture’, an awareness initiated by the eminent designers and celebrities for the empowerment of craft and craftsmen with the sole objective to bring their skill and talent in front of everyone. The sustainability and the enrichment of a craft and its community lies in its acceptance and its propagation in the correct direction is what they mainly focused on.

Speaking at the occasion, the curator of this spectacular exhibition, Rashmi Chowdhary added, “Kolkata Kettle comes from a beautiful place of passion... passion for development in terms of our craft, and in terms of a respected place for women in our society. Let’s work towards a common goal of transforming the life of the talented craft tribe of India.”

In addition to this, there were few seminars/workshops/installations from the craft, fashion and lifestyle industry- enriching workshops on natural dye by Vishwabharati designers and presentation on Applique work by Master Craftsman- Kartik Chauhan.

The attraction of the event was the panel discussion by Bibi Russell and Nayanika Chatterjee along with other renowned city designers like Shantanu Goenka, Vivek Kumar, Amalraj Sengupta, Rimi Nayak amongst others, on Craft Couture at the venue.
